WHAT IS A DOULA?

A doula is a professional, non-medical labor partner who provides physical, emotional, and informational support to the birthing person and partner during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum.

WHAT ARE YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH MEDICAL STAFF LIKE?

I don't tell medical staff how to do their jobs, but I will ask them to inform you on your options of care along with the pros and cons of them so you can make an informed decision. From there, I will continue in full support of your choice.

DO YOU PERFORM ANY PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS?

I do not perform any physical exams because I am not medical personnel.

HOW WILL HIRING YOU AFFECT MY PARTNER’S ROLE DURING THE BIRTH?

Hiring me does not negatively affect your partner's role during the birth. If you and your partner wish for them to have a more active role during labor, I am more than excited to show them how to best support you physically during our prenatal visits and in labor. I am there to support you and your partner so you both have the best experience possible.
