Hello, my name is Virginia Catlett, and I am a Catholic doula new to the Shreveport/ Bossier City, LA area! I first became interested in birth work when my mom had her first home birth when I was in 6th grade. Her midwives included us older kids in the appointments, and I was able to be home for two of my brothers' births. I grew up the oldest of 9 and have constantly been around pregnant women, births, placentas, and lots of babies! I am a mom of two boys here on earth with two littles in Heaven after back-to-back miscarriages. After my firstborn's pregnancy and delivery, I felt a bigger calling to become a doula as I had pre-eclampsia and preterm delivery. My past experiences led me to be very passionate about women having the best birth possible in any birth situation. Helping women have the birth they desire is where I find joy. I can’t wait to help serve families and God in this way.
