Hello, my name is Virginia Catlett and I am a doula in the Winchester, VA area! I was first interested in birth work since my mom had her first home birth when I was in 6th grade. Her midwives included us in the appointments and I was able to be home for two of my brothers births. I grew up the oldest of 9 and have constantly been around pregnant women, births, placentas, and lots of babies! I had my own son this past year which was a planned home birth turned hospital birth after going into preterm labor at 31 weeks then having him at 35 weeks and 6 days due to preeclampsia. He was a 4lb 2oz baby and was in the NICU for 10 days. Even though my birth wasn’t what I originally planned, I still daydream about how amazing it was! I’m very passionate about women having the very best birth they can no matter where they birth. Helping women have the best birth possible is my goal. I can’t wait to serve my community and birthing women in this way!
